I have decided to work on my DVD cover for my assignment.
To begin with, I decided to choose an image of a park because I have decided to make a childrens comedy film. I thought about the park as most children enjoy being at the park and I thought that this would appeal to them.
The image I chose reminded me of my childhood and how I loved being on swings, so I decided to make a DVD cover based on how popular swings are in parks.
To begin with, I decided to place my image on a new layer in Photoshop. I then started playing around with the hue and saturation to change the colours and how dark they are in the image. I chose to change the hue and saturation to make it look like the grass was greener and that the ground beneath the swings look darker. This is how the image came out as:

This is the image before editing:
I opened up the image in photoshop and then looked at the different adjustments that I could apply to the image.
I chose the Hue/Saturation adjustment and started playing around with the different colours. I chose the pink colour as it made the image look as though it had contrasting colours. I clicked on the Hue/Saturation adjustment box and then clicked on the colour range. This then allowed me to choose just one area of the image and any matching coloured area on the image allowed me to change just the one area that I had clicked on. This applied a colour mask which then made the cliffs pink.
I then added another layer and copied the back ground image on the new layer. I then used the render clouds to add the clouds in the background. I chose the blue and white to make it as though there were clouds in the background.
For my final bit of editing, I decided to add a render lens flare in the background to show that there is a sun in the background behind the cliffs.
This is the image after I finished editing it:
