DVD Cover reassignment 4
I added text on to the DVD cover so that people could see what my DVD is about. I made it big enough for people to read and dark enough so that it does not blend into the background because it would not be easy to read it if it did.
I also added a few more characters on to the DVD Cover because it needed more characters to make it believable and how it would included older children as well as younger children which would make it a family film
DVD Cover reassignment 3
I used the lasso tool to place any character images on to the cover because it would take away any background areas i did not want. this would make it look better and a little bit more professional.
DVD Label Reassignment 2
I have changed a couple of the opacities on some layers so that it looks like it is blended on properly. this then takes away any blemishes that i may have missed and makes it look a little bit more professional.
DVD Label Reassignment 1
I placed an image of one of the main characters from the film because I wanted to portray it as a children's DVD. I then added the age rating that is normally used on DVD's to show that it was a child friendly film. I then used the brush tool to take any blemishes from any of the images so that it blended in better.
DVD Label Reassignment
I used the pen tool to create an almost square around my guides as I wanted to keep it looking similar to the cover. The main colour in the cover was green, so therefore I created the label with a green background on it.
Then used the type tool to create the name of DVD which is called "Playground Fun". I then created outlines around the text so that I could use the warp tool. this created it to look like it was following a wave of text which created an atmosphere that most children find exciting.

DVD Cover Reassignment 2
I decided to look at the different effect that Photoshop had available. I decided upon using a gradient overlay because this would make it look almost cartoon like, and many children will sit and watching something that appeals to them.
DVD Cover Reassignment 1
After looking at all the different filters, I decided upon using the lens blur filter as this was the easiest upon the eyes and did not take the image completely away. I also changed the layer transparencies, because it made the image look softer and the green grass did not look as bright as it did. this made it look more like natural grass during the summer.
I also changed the levels as this made it look less bright and I wanted it to be as natural as possible so that it looks appealing to the eye.
DVD Cover - Reassignment
I have decided to work on my DVD cover for my assignment.
To begin with, I decided to choose an image of a park because I have decided to make a children's comedy film. I thought about the park as most children enjoy being at the park and I thought that this would appeal to them.
The image I chose reminded me of my childhood and how I loved being on swings, so I decided to make a DVD cover based on how popular swings are in parks.
To begin with, I decided to place my image on a new layer in Photoshop. I then started playing around with the hue and saturation to change the colours and how dark they are in the image. I chose to change the hue and saturation to make it look like the grass was greener and that the ground beneath the swings look darker. This is how the image came out as:

DVD Trailer
I started working on my DVD Trailer and I chose to take little bits out of two different movies to ensure that it provided the look of what it included.
The movies I used included Five children and IT and Lemony Snickets A series of Unfortunate Events.
I clipped a couple of bits out of it and pieced them together and then chose different effects to make them look like one movie.
I then added credits to my trailer to make it look like a trailer.

DVD Label Part 3
I have finished working on the DVD Label and I added the final bits to it:
Paint brush tool
Pen tool
Clipping Mask
I used the paint brush tool to mark out the lines of the swings so that it made them stand out behind the paint splat. I then moved it to the back of the paint splat so that it makes it stand out behind everything else.
I used the pen tool to draw out a shape on the grass, however where I moved it to, it is not visable on the screen after I used the clipping tool I then realised I could not change it.
The clipping mask I drew an circle around the main part of my label, and then selected all. I then went to clipping mask and make which then took away all my extra bits that I did not need.

DVD Label part 2
I have worked on my DVD Label and have implemented the following features on to it:
Line segment tool x 7
Paint Splat
I added 7 different line segements onto my label because it defined the areas that are surrounding the swings and it made it stand out in the image.
I then added a paint splat over the top of the line segments to make it appear like a child dropped a small amount of paint on it.
I then the paint splat and line segments underneath the text "Playground Fun" so that you can understand what the movie is called.

DVD Cover part 2
Atfer working on the first part of my DVD cover, I added the words "Playground Fun". This is because I decided on doing a childrens trailer for a film, and this represents a child's play time.
I then added a character called a "Sand Fairy who I have portrayed by a comedian to add a bit of fun to the story line.
I then added a child to my cover so that it fits in with the theme.
I then added a female actress to my cover to portray the mother of the child so that it will be much more friendly to a child than an adult.
I then added two lots of different text to my DVD cover so that it gave a background story to the trailer and who the main characters are so that it gives some background about the characters.

DVD Label
I started working on the DVD label.
I opened up the image that I was using in photoshop as my background for my DVD Label. The reason for this was
I then added the text "Playground fun" as this is the title of the movie, as I find it will mean that something will be funny in this movie. I then used the 'convert to outline' tool to be able to change the way the text looked. I then used the warp tool to make the text look wavy and out of line. This was because it looks visually pleasing to the eye and children find that when something is different, it captivates them physically.

Test Blog
This is the image before editing:
I opened up the image in photoshop and then looked at the different adjustments that I could apply to the image.
I chose the Hue/Saturation adjustment and started playing around with the different colours. I chose the pink colour as it made the image look as though it had contrasting colours. I clicked on the Hue/Saturation adjustment box and then clicked on the colour range. This then allowed me to choose just one area of the image and any matching coloured area on the image allowed me to change just the one area that I had clicked on. This applied a colour mask which then made the cliffs pink.
I then added another layer and copied the back ground image on the new layer. I then used the render clouds to add the clouds in the background. I chose the blue and white to make it as though there were clouds in the background.
For my final bit of editing, I decided to add a render lens flare in the background to show that there is a sun in the background behind the cliffs.
This is the image after I finished editing it:
